Hypocrite
By Jovianna Roopchand, 7th Grade

Winter, the coldest season there is. The stereotypical white snow, the carolers, the Christmas songs, and most importantly, the Christmas tree; winter in New York is literally the worst in my opinion. The only types of movies I can find are the Christmas ones, and all the carolers talk about is Santa, reindeers, snowmen, and love. Don’t judge me for not loving that, I’m 20 years old and have learned to stop believing in that stuff. Santa is just a fictional character made for parents to spend money and to strengthen a child’s imagination. And love, it hurts. You feel like you’re in love with someone only to find that you don’t end up with them forever like in the fairytales.

Something bad always happens, so all that comes with love is pain. I’m not wasting my time crying every day.  Back when I turned 18, I finally promised myself, New Year, new me and no boys. Well, except for my brother. And I always keep my promises. I don’t have the time to fall in love with someone just to be hurt. The movies are never true; they say that the princess wakes up or is saved by her prince and they live happily ever after. But what happens during the relationship? What happens off camera? There has to be arguments and pain for it to be real. In the Christmas movies, why does the lovely couple always have drama before they end up being with each other but no drama after? It’s not realistic and relationships never happen like that – that’s a fact.

I can’t even think about this right now, I have to get back to my dorm. My best friend, Becky, wanted me to get her a huge honeybun.  It is supposed to be delicious, so I said yes because I was heading over in that area to get a new notebook. Since I’m not focusing on guys and love interests, I have so much more freedom and time. I can finally study without having the pressure of someone waiting for me to finish. I finally have the ability to buy clothes and jewelry without worrying what my boyfriend would think. It’s so much more fun. After college, I can finally become a fashion designer and travel the world with Becky, without having to consider where or what my boyfriend wants. The only boy that I’ll have to think about is my older bro, we look out for each other - it’s just what we do.

When I get back to the dorm room, not much has changed. The fluffy rug in the living room is not out of place. The beautiful walls are still white which means no kitchen mishaps. The floor was still clean and shiny. But, there is one change. I find Becky talking to this other girl. She had light brown skin, beautiful dark brown eyes, and dark brown hair. They were laughing about something. Now I know this is the part when you think I’m going to say that I was jealous, Becky never really hung out with people, except for me. Here’s the thing, unlike high school, in college there’s not really much “best friend” groups. You go do your work, and get back to your dorm. Your only bestie is the one that you share your dorm room with, or anyone else you somehow know. Now, if your dorm bestie is older than you, she has experienced more years in college, and may know other people or have connections. Becky is not one of those people. Yeah, she’s a year older than me and has therefore been here longer, but she is more introverted, like me. The first time we actually bonded and became friends was when we were both late to class.

“Oh my gosh! I’m late, I’m late!” I yelled, looking at the time.

Becky’s room is across from mine, so my yelling easily woke her up.

“Oh  no - no no no no no! I can’t be late to another class or they’re gonna kick me out! It was hard enough getting into this fashion school!” she yelled.

We both rushed to brush our teeth, change our clothes, and get our things for class. Of course, we were late, and by this time I knew Becky would get into a lot of trouble if she was late so I said, “Sorry Madam Blue, it’s my fault, I asked Becky to help me find my shoes.”

“Mhm,” Madam Blue sighed, “I guess I’ll give you a pass today Becky.”

“Oh my gosh thank you Madam Blue!” I can still remember how relieved and relaxed she was after I stood up for her.

Once we were in the hallway, she pulled me by the arm and whispered, “Thank you for sticking up for me back there.”

“No problem, I should’ve woken you,” I said.

“I should’ve done the same for you. Those beds are just WAY too comfortable.”

“I know right! Like how do they expect us to resist the temptation of cuddling up in our blankets and falling asleep?!” We laughed together for the first time at that.

Becky linked arms with me.

“I don’t know whether it’s your peculiar green eyes or your wonderful sense of humor but I think we’re going to be best friends,” she smiled.

And we were, well we are to this day. She’s helped me with everything and has put up with all the things I’ve said and done. There was that one day when I walked into my dorm room miserably and angrily said, “Elijah has a girlfriend!”

“Oh my gosh your brother?” She laughed, “What’s wrong with that?”

“She’s going to break his heart is what’s wrong!” I said, plopping my bag down and standing in front of Becky.

“That doesn’t always happen, Neveah; just because you gave up on love doesn’t mean he has to.”

“But she doesn’t even seem like a good person. Look!” I said, sitting next to Becky and scrolling down on my phone.  “See she has tons of other guy friends.”

“True but she also has tons of girl friends. She looks popular, dang I’m jealous.”

“No it’s not good when a girl has tons of guy friends AND a boyfriend!”

“Calm down see, look when you scroll down the guys in the pictures are with girls,” Becky said. “They have girlfriends. They took a group photo; see it says, ‘all happily taken.”

“She doesn’t look like the type of girl to be dating my brother,” I responded.

“Girl stop twitching, there’s nothing to be nervous about, you’re just overthinking. Better yet, you’re assuming. STOP.”

“I just want the best for my brother! My instincts never lie,” I said confidently.

“Your instincts always lie,” Becky responded.

“No they don’t! I’m right, she’s bad, and I’ll prove it to everyone!”

And yet I still haven’t proven my claim to this day.  But, I’m optimistic, and I have hope that I will be able to find my evidence. It’s the same with this girl Becky is talking to, whoever she is. I’ve never seen her around here before, and she seems suspicious to me. Not only that, but Becky and I PROMISED we wouldn’t let other people, girls or guys, get in the way of our friendship. This girl is obviously trying to get in the way! And what are they laughing at? Whatever they are watching can’t be that funny.

“Becky! I’m back with your honeybun!” I yell.

“Oh! Yeah thanks,” she says, getting up looking startled.

Meanwhile the girl next to Becky stared at me with an expression which was too hard for me to read. It was almost as if she could see my soul, and her look made me lose my train of thought. When you look at her more clearly, I guess you can say she is pretty - a little pretty. She had on a gold sparkly crop top, with an extra black square net shirt on top, paired with a gold sparkly skirt and tall gold high heel shoes. The heels weren’t too high though, they looked just high enough and the heel itself was thick which explains why she looks so comfortable. I have never seen someone match the same shade of a color that well; so how did she do it? Is she some type of robot invention or something? You can’t even find those clothes around here, she must have money. All I have is a part time job as an assistant designer and though that sounds fun- trust me it’s NOT. It’s fun when YOU ARE the designer, not the one that is expected to run as fast as the speed of sound whenever a person calls for you. This girl looks like a New Yorker but it’s impossible for her to have been here this whole time without me knowing, especially if she’s a friend of Becky. If she was always in New York, why wouldn’t Becky introduce me? Have her over; at least hint it! It’s really pissing me off at this point.

“You must be Neveah.” The girl said.

“Yep, that’s me,” I said.

“I’ve always wanted to name my child that, very pretty name,” she said. “Well, I should be going then.” The girl starts to get up signaling she’s about to leave.

Becky stopped her; “No no no, you can stay for a while longer can’t you?”

“No, I don’t want to be a bother, and it doesn’t seem like your roommate would like me here.”

“That’s not true, come on she doesn’t even know you,” Becky pleaded.

The girl walked toward Becky, pulled her to the side and said, “She hates winter, yet winter is my favorite time of year. Is she even religious? How are we supposed to get along?”

I can hear them mumbling for 2 minutes or so before my anger and curiosity gets the best of me.

“Who is she?” I say, mainly toward Becky.

“You know I’m a person too right?” The girl interjects.

“Look both of you. I never even knew Becky had other friends, so please explain.”

“That’s so offensive am I really that unlikeable?” Becky pouts, before she says, “Yeah, I do have one other best friend.”

“So is SHE your new best friend?”

“Hey! I can have more than one best friend!”

“GUYS GUYS STOP!” The girl yells. “I met Becky in high school and we've been best friends ever since. My career took off, so though I still attended my classes at Julliard it was all remote because I lived in Hollywood for a year. Now I’m back here in New York, so of course Becky was one of the first people I wanted to see.”

“Becky why didn’t you ever tell me you had a friend in California?” I asked.

“Because I didn’t want to meet you!” The girl interjects again.

“Why not?”

“You’re so different! You don’t even like winter!”

“What’s so bad about hating winter?” I said.

“Christmas is in the winter!”

“Ugh!” I sighed miserably, “Christmas is so fake! The only good thing about it is that it’s the day Jesus was born!”

“Don’t get me wrong that’s great but there’s so much more to Christmas!” she said.

“Oh are you talking about the movies? Ugh I hate them they’re so untrue.”

“Not all movies have to be true. And Christmas is the time for fun and miracles. Every movie does not have to end horribly just because your love life did!” She sounded frustrated.

“You know about that?”

“I know a lot about you, including the fact that you gave up on love? Why?”

“Because it’s no use,” I said quietly.

“Just because you can’t find a decent man, doesn’t mean you give up on your whole love life. The right guy will come at the right time that’s just the fact,” she responded.

“And what happens then? Fight all day? Worry about him? Get hurt every day of my life?”

“If a guy is causing pain he’s not the right guy. If he’s having a negative impact on you, then he’s not the one,” she says as she adjusts her gold sparkly choker. “But if it’s not abusive pain then love is worth it.”

“How am I supposed to know the difference between real pain and relationship pain? Aren’t they the same thing?” I asked.

“You know it when you feel it. As people say, love is like playing with fire. There may be fights and there may be pain but it’s not TRUE love if you’re used. You’ll know when to end a relationship and when it’s real love. It may not be like in the movies but that doesn’t mean you just give up and blame others for things that aren’t true. You know, you don’t even believe yourself when you talk about love because whenever someone falls into it, you try to find excuses to back up your thoughts. The only person you’re trying to reassure every day is yourself and you’re a hypocrite when you do that. I’ve only known you for 5 minutes but I can tell you know that there’s gonna be a day when Becky falls in love too, and you’re scared.”

“Well then if you’re so smart what do you suggest......whoever you are?” I asked.

“Listen to your first instinct, even if that means it’s your heart instead of your mind,” The girl explains as she walks to the door. As she opens it, she turns around and says, “Oh, and my name is Jovianna, pleasure to meet you.” Before walking away and closing the door behind her.

Becky looks towards me, obviously feeling really awkward. But since she didn’t stop Jovianna, I can tell she agrees with her. Is it true? Am I truly doubting my instincts? And have I been doing that for the past few years? How is it that a girl meets me for 10 minutes and knows so much while I know so little about myself? And at this moment is when I knew.

I love winter.

A Broken Trust
By: Maya Depeyster, 7th Grade

It's a cold and dark Monday morning and I have already packed my bag for school. My mother is downstairs cooking breakfast as usual. My brother had already left for school since he was in high school and because he was gone, I didn't get a ride. I have to take the bus. After breakfast I put on my shoes and grabbed my bag just in time. I reached the bus where I met my best friend Jenny.

“Hi Alice,” Jenny says as if she was about to run out of breath.

“Hi,” I said. When the bus arrives Jenny and I get on, we see our bully which is such a bummer.

“OH, LOOK AT THE LOSERS!” Justin says. We completely ignore him because he is really annoying.

“How is your mom?” Jenny asks me, as she sits down next to me. She knows my mom is sick.

“To be honest she is doing better,” I said.

When I arrive at school it is really crowded with a bunch of students, but I just ignore it and head to my locker with purple and blue flowers. As I grab my science book, I head down to the classroom with leaves all over the door and a really nice teacher, the only teacher I respect. When I get to the class I go and sit down next to Justin because it's my assigned seat. Ms. Avery arrives, and she looks very down and kind of disappointed, as if somebody did something bad. The room goes silent as two cops come into the classroom. They make an announcement asking us to go through our bags.

I raise my hand.

“What is going on Ms. Avery?!”

“W-well it appears somebody has a w-weapon in the s-school!” Ms. Avery says, through tears.

I started to panic, almost about to cry as well, but as I was looking through my bag, I felt something sharp.
My heart sank to my stomach. One officer approached me.

“Is something wrong?” he asked. I felt like crying so bad but I was afraid I might be questioned so I said “N-nothing sir.”

“Well if nothing is wrong can I check your bag?” he asks, looking at me deeply and seriously. At this point I am really starting to panic, but take a deep breath and respond;

“Sure, you can go through my bag.”

The officer grabs my bag. Another cop comes over. They turn to me.

“Can you step outside please?” one of them asks. I am really nervous, but I go outside with them. When I walk out of the classroom they bring me to the principal's office. At this point I have no idea why, so I start to think, is that sharp object in my bag? I sit down in a chair while I watch them empty my bag and that's when I see it. I know I am in so much trouble. As the small pocket knife drops on the table I scream out and say, “IT'S NOT MINE I SWEAR!” as the officer looks at me questiongly.

“Then what's it doing in your bag Alice?” It wasn’t the cop speaking, but I recognized the voice. It was very deep and settled but almost furious. I turned around and I saw my brother...I can feel my tears coming asking for forgiveness, but I don't know why.

“Alice. talk now," he said.

My voice starts breaking and I cry “I-it’s not m-mine I swear, I have nothing to do with it! Somebody must have put in my bag!”

“Go to the car now, understand?” he is practically shouting he is so furious.

I shake my head yes knowing that he has to tell mom and to be honest I don't think he will trust me anymore. As I get into my brother's car, I burst into tears trying to figure out how I am going to apologize even though the knife isn't mine.

When we got home, I ran to my bedroom and locked it immediately. I started thinking to myself “will Aiden ever trust me again?” Just then I hear a knock at the door.

“Can I come in? I just wanna talk,” says Aiden, through the door.

I sigh to myself and I am still uncertain of everything, but I open the door and sit back on my bed.
“I just want an explanation…” he says.

My mind has all sorts of questions like, how am I supposed to explain something when I don't even know myself. Aiden waits for me to talk but I finally say, “it's not mine I don’t know where it came from, end of discussion."

I start to calm down, I have nothing else to say. Just then Aiden hugged me, and I was surprised by that. But maybe he knew I was innocent, and I would never hurt anyone.

“Well...we do need to find out who framed you and why,” he said.

I thought of Justin, but he doesn’t even have the strength and sneakiness to frame me, I thought to myself: Who would frame me? Could it be someone I know? An enemy?

I sighed again and Aiden knew I didn't know who I could have problems with.

“I am not trying to be rude, but can it be your best friend?” he asks. I quickly look at him and start crying in frustration.

“WHY WOULD YOU EVEN SUGGEST THAT, SHE IS MY BEST FRIEND…. get out Aiden!" I responded. He left and I sat and cried myself to sleep.

The next morning, when I arrived at school, I noticed Jenny looked so different. She curled her hair and completely changed her clothing choice.

“What's going on?” I asked her.

“I made some new friends,” Jenny said. In my head I said “I thought I was your only friend…”

“Wanna eat lunch together?” I ask instead.

Jenny just ignored me and left. At that moment I knew she was gonna leave for some pathetic group that gossips so much. Why would she choose them?

I forgot about it and just went to class, but when I arrived, I noticed everyone looking and laughing at me including Jenny. I felt the urge to scream, I felt betrayed and lonely. I couldn't explain it, but I knew something was up and everyone was making fun of me.

“ALICE!” my brother calls out.

I turn as Aiden signals me to the principal office.

When I arrived, Aiden told me to look at the security footage. I gasped in disbelief. I could see Jenny putting the knife into my bag.

“My own best friend did this?!” I exclaimed.

Aiden nods yes feeling sorry for me. I walked out of the office and walked directly to Jenny.

“WHY, WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE?!” I said, aggressively.

Jenny looks at me and tells me “For fun, of course!”

I was heartbroken. But from there on I knew I was on my own. I would have to be much more careful about who or what I trusted.

Our experience
By: Abigail Singh, 7th Grade

It was Sophie's first day of school at a new school and she was super nervous. Her mom came into my room,

"Sophie, are you gonna at least try wearing shorts today?" She already knew the answer, so once Sophie gave her 'The Look,' she left the room.

Let me take you back a little bit. Last year at Sophie's old school she always used to wear shorts because it was hot and it was summer. Every day she would get bullied because of the birthmark on her lower thigh. It was very noticeable so everyone noticed it. Ever since that incident she never showed her legs at school again. She wished she could wear shorts but she knew now she would never look good in them.

She got dressed in a nice pair of jeans and a shirt that didn't show her stomach because she hated showing her  body. Once she got dressed she grabbed her bag, said her goodbyes to her parents and left for school. She made sure she had gum on her before going into the school since she had a major stuttering problem that started when she got her stupid braces.

Once she got to school she walked in and immediately felt like everyone was staring at her. She just looked down and kept walking until she could find the principal's office. The Principal greeted her with a nice hello and introduced her to this kid Chloe who was gonna give her a tour of the school.

"Hey! You have beautiful eyes!” she said as she walked up to Sophie the first time.

"Thank you," Sophie said. She put her head down since she was probably the only one with blue eyes.

Before Sophie was about to leave, Chloe asked her, "Wait what's your name?"

"Sophie,” she said.

"Cool name," Chloe said.

"Thanks, see you around."

As days and months went on, Sophie started to make a bunch of new friends and soon became one of the popular kids in school. She always hung out with everyone and was the kid that everyone talks to because she's so popular and special in the school.

One day at lunch a new girl named Lea was shyly walking to sit at a table. Before she could  sit at the table, Sophie called to her, "Hey you! Come over here!"

"Me?" Lea says confused.

"Yea, you."

"Okay," Lea says. Lea walked over and everyone was watching.

Sophie went off on her.  ¨Why are you so fat? Why do you have green eyes? Are you a monster?”

“B-b-because--¨ Lea stammered.

“Awww did you just stutter?” Sophie interrupted. “Try to speak properly!¨ Lea walked away, almost about to cry.

Days later Sophie started to lose friends because of the incident at lunch. One day she was walking home and saw Lea so she walked up to her.

“Hi,” she said quietly.

“Hi” Lea responded.

“Look, I'm so sorry for what i d-d-did to you last week.”

As she was talking she knew Lea heard the stutter.

“Wait did you just stutter?”

“Yeah, I have a stuttering problem too.”

”Then why did you bully me about my stuttering problem?”

”I don't know what i was thinking and I knew it hurt because I went through that before. I'm so sorry and I hope we could be friends since I've lost all of mine."

“I would love to be your friend and I will but you have to learn to be kind to others because words can hurt.¨ Lea said.

"Really? Thank you so much Lea! And I will learn to do it maybe with a little help?” Sophie said.

Lea nodded and both of them went together and walked home together.

A Trip To A Magical Land
By Romain Nurse, 7th Grade

It was my birthday, and everything that I ever dreamt of was about to come through. I was a boy named Lorian in the land of all my dreams and fantasies, all on my birthday, just for me. As it is, it only happens once every year on your birthday, and it’s a one time in a year opportunity.

I am a shy and caring person, and it is my 12th birthday. Today I will enter into the dreamland of Avalon,  where magic, mysteries, and fantasies happen. Upon my arrival into the land of dreams, where my dreams were about to come true, I was beyond delighted. This land was exactly what I imagined it to be. Did I say, the land is amazing, made of many colorful trees and fantastic animals and cool magical things? Most of all in this magical land was someone who lived there whom I longed to meet. I  was so excited to be there,  especially when  I met a princess named Winglet, who was the leader of the land.

When she saw me, she greeted me with her bright golden smile.

“You can have anything you want and as much as you want and stay as long as you like,” she said.

I was really excited n to hear those inviting words. I began to jump up and down and found myself running around in circles. Everyone who knows me well knows how much I love pizza. So of course I chose pizza. I  love everything about pizza. Its colorful attractive appearance is irresistible. It's mouth-watering taste, gets you coming back for more. Everything about pizza is so cool dude.

As I sat down and was enjoying my pizza, looking around and taking in the beautiful secrets of this magical dreamland,  I noticed that something was unusual about the dreamland. The place Avalon was different. There weren't that many people in the dream world as I expected. I also noticed that the girl Winglet didn't look that cheerful as I imagined her to be.

So, if you didn’t know I cared about people so I asked her “Why do you look so sad like something has happened?

``My parents and others have left on a journey and I am very unhappy. They are important citizens of the land and I also missed all the other citizens of the Avalon,” she answered.

At that moment I decided I had to do something to help her, so she won't worry and she won’t be so sad. I know that when you worry other people worry too. So I decided that since I was going to do something, I was going to have to take her to a place to make her happy again. So I asked her where to find the portal to the land of the Paradise Kingdom.

“It is in a portal in the middle of the land,” she said.

Winglet and I gather all the foods we think we would want to eat on our journey as we get ready. Then we set out on our journey in search of the portal. We were so anxious to get to the portal that we forgot to take the supplies with us. However, we were not bothered at all.

On our way to the portal, we made it to a place with a huge wall with multiple questions that looked so easy to me and there was this talking fairy too.

"My name is Nymph, how can I help you?” he said.

The fairy who said his name is a nymph was surrounded by many other fairies around him.

“If you may like to pass you need to answer these three questions...What is the name of the land we are in?” he asked. Princess Winglet didn't know since she never been here before nor did I. Then I remembered seeing the name inside of a book with a picture at my school. Since Winglet didn’t know I shouted out, “the land of fairies!”

The first answer was pretty obvious since Nymph is a fairy and there were many more around him. Although I  was shy, I was still able to answer the question correctly.

“Where are goblins located?” we asked.

“They are located…” The Nymph prompted...

“In the world called Gob,” said Winglet. I was surprised that she knew the answer because she didn't know much.

We were on the final question: The Nymph continues, “When was the dreamland world created?”

Right then I remembered seeing a number saying 2005 in a book that I read in the real world.

“2005,” I said.

“That is the correct answer,'' he said. Then the huge wall began to magically move apart leaving a clear path for us to walk right through.

After the wall moved we continued our journey until we reached that place, the Paradise Kingdom. A place where candy grows on the trees, and honey flows like streams. A place where there is no crying, and no fear of dying. A place of understanding, a place where leaders are not commanding. I made a wish that they meet our journey quickly before that time fades from me permanently. We stopped on the way to take a rest and prepare for the final journey, quicker than a rat, we scurried into the nearest inn.

I soon dozed off in a comfy magical chair.

Then a call came; “Lorian, Lorian!”

It was time, I opened my eyes as the morning sun poured through the window, I saw that beautiful face of hope. Winglet informed me that the locals and the hotel owner believe that the land is 5 miles south. I was puzzled, so I asked myself, How could that be? Is it farther than I dreamt it to be? I went downstairs to the inn owner. I asked him again how far the place was. I kept telling myself, It had to be a mistake, it could never be that far!

We eventually started on our journey to the Paradise Kingdom. Finally, we met the dream world.  This big beautiful land was more than I imagined it to be. I rubbed my eyes and ears in disbelief!

“Tell me once more,” I said, “are we in the Guardians of Paradise Kingdom?”

My dream became a reality. As we entered the waterfall 5 miles away from the inn, it was as if magic. We found all the citizens that were missing, and right there we also found Winglet's parents.  There was a lot of hustling and bustling of children that brought me joy on my birthday. A birthday that I would never forget, even after I leave this world.

“Thank you!” Winglet cried with joy on my shoulders. “I am now happy and at last and I trust that my parents will be alright.”

As I left the Dreamland to return to the real world, I said, Bye Dream World, Bye Winglet, Bye Happiness.

THE END

Cutterson Territory
By Brandon Gopie, 7th Grade

As the high school kids came into the classroom 5 minutes late the teacher, Miss Cutterson was waiting for everyone to come into class. I got up late because I finished work late last night at the diner, trying to get money so I can go to college, since my family is struggling with money lately. I am not sure if I will be able to afford college.

I was running to class, trying for my teacher not to notice. I usually make it to school on time and I am only 10 minutes late today, but Miss Cutterson always had it out for me for no reason. When I reached class, Miss Cutterson was already teaching. I did my best to sneak in, but the door made a loud creaking sound. She looked towards the door and saw me and called my name:

“Richard Anderson.”

I knew that I was in big trouble.

“Why are you late for class? You know that class starts at 8 a.m. every morning, so please give me a good reason why I shouldn’t give you detention,” he said.

“I am late because my alarm didn’t go off and I tried my best to get here on time,” I responded.

“Well, your best isn’t good enough.”

“Well, my best is all you have,” I said.

She rushed over to my desk in a flash then she slammed her hands on my desk causing me to tremble.
“You will not speak back to me!”

And I didn’t, I just stayed quiet waiting for her to leave my desk. But she stayed there staring at me for what felt like eternity.

The Principal walked into the room because she was supposed to come in today to check on Miss Cutterson’s teaching. She hasn’t been getting any complaints about Miss Cutterson and that is maybe because of the fear she produces  -- no one dares complain about her. But that is not normal since the students complain about all the other teachers. As the Principal went to the front of the room to talk to Miss Cutterson about what she will be teaching today, everyone was staring at me.

Brent and Noah were laughing so much that they must have completely forgotten the Principal was there. They threw a ball at me leaving a bruise, I felt the bump on my head instantly. The Principal came over and told them she will be calling their parents and they would be joining detention today.

During lunch while I was cleaning the classroom for being late, I went to the closet to get wipes to clean the desks. When I opened the closet door I saw my best friend Henry. We always hung out and played video games together. He was in the closet with a knife in his chest, in a state of shock!

I wasn’t sure what to do first, my mind was racing. Then I ran to the Principal's office and told her what I saw. While we were returning to the classroom the other students and teachers were returning back from lunch and then everyone saw him murdered with a knife in his chest. The Principal ran off to her office to call 911, all the students started screaming and running and some fainted. I was running too but then I saw that Miss Cutterson didn’t leave. So I stood by the doorway watching what happened next.

“You should have stayed with me and this would of never happened,” she said quietly to Henry.

She grabbed his phone from his pocket and put it in hers and ran out of the room. There were kids and teachers running down the hallway. I ran up to her and grabbed the phone from her pocket and sprinted away.
I ran to the bathroom and looked at the phone and I saw pictures of Henry and Miss Cutterson together kissing and the pictures were just disturbing and this showed me what really transpired between those two. I ran outside and saw a police officer and I told him what happened, and it is against the law for a teacher to have sexual interaction with a student. The police arrested her and the school was dismissed for the day.

I ran home and told my parents what happened and they asked so many questions. Later that night all the parents were summoned to the school to have a discussion of the incident. I turned on the T.V. and the news popped up and I was about to change the channel when I saw Miss Cutterson. The police had identified her as a serial killer!

The reporter went on to say that she escaped from police custody, before I can hear anymore I heard a movement behind me.

“Hello there Richard, do you feel better now that you put me in jail?” she asked.

“What are you doing here?!” I exclaimed.

“I just came to give you an goodbye gift!” she responded.

“But I am not leaving,” I said.

“I am leaving -- to a foreign country where the police can’t get me. But before I leave, I will make sure you will be sorry for what you did!” Miss Cutterson shouted.

“Wait let me explain!” I cried.

“What is there to explain?” Miss Cutteson asked. ”You told the police that Henry and I were together. There is no explanation for that!”

“Wait, how did he die, did you kill him?”

“I never intended for him to die. I was just upset and I grabbed the knife and I stabbed him” she said through her sobs. “I never meant for this to happen. It was an accident, he was threatening to leave me and I couldn’t let people know that we were together, because I knew it was illegal!” she continued sobbing.

As she cried, I grabbed the knife from her hand and tried to run outside to safety. But she tripped me and the knife fell out of my hand. We both rushed to it. I managed to get it before her, while struggling for the knife I accidentally stabbed her. My heart was beating so fast I felt like it would soon explode but then my parents opened the door, they must've seen on the news that she had escaped and came home to make sure I was okay.

My mom called the cops and my dad lifted Miss Cutterson off me. When the police arrived they took Miss Cutterson and they told me that I did a great job and that they have been waiting a long time to catch her.
There was also a reward for $5,000,000 for whoever captures her. So now I have enough money to go to college and have a happy life.
