I was raised by a strong bond,

Fast shooting star,
“I want that car,”
KIND OF DAD.

I was raised by a window cracked,
Love to run track,
“If anybody hit you, you better hit them back,”
SORT OF MOM.

I was raised by a very neat,
Always stay clean,
"You better eat them beans,”
Type of Dad.

I was raised by a very beautiful,
Unmovable,
“This is unusual,"
Type of Mom.

I was raised by…

A loud music,
Family argument,
Slamming doors,
"You pay rent,’’
Type of neighborhood.

I was raised by…
Thick women,
Loudmouths,
Party all night,
‘’Hoy se bebe,’’
Kind of neighborhood.

I was raised by…

Always money counting,
Guns shooting,
Dominican cooking,
"Ven a comer,’’
Sorta neighborhood.

I was raised by…
El merengue y la bachata,
Openly dressed,
Chancleta wearing,
"Tu no tienes calor?’’
Type of neighborhood.

I was raised by…
Sweat hangin' loud bangin',
Thigh rubbin' all night clubbin',
“Que hora son?’’
Kinda neighborhood.
