Before, people could hear the noise of the street.
Now, you can barely hear the pit pat of your feet.
Before, you could get chips by going to the store.
Now, it's not that simple anymore.
Before, you could look on the street,
And there would be people here and there.
Now, nothing but fear everywhere.
Before, people could go to Disneyland.
Now, some people call the city bland.
But the City is still going
No matter how it looks
The City is still full of people
And the Library still has its books
People are still working
No matter what background they are in
And now people are seeing
How much they value their kin.
It's still the same hustle and bustle.
This city has not yet lost its muscle
People are still working all day long
No matter what, New York City stays strong
Things may look a little strange
But it's going to be okay
Because then again
Who hasn't seen things change?
